Hardgainers are generally ectomorphs, or in simple terms, skinny people (even skinnys with a fat belly).
They generally stimulate only about 20-30% of their “fast twitch” muscle fibers in any given workout, which is why they tend to find it hard putting on thick quality muscle.
And typically they believe (or have been told) that their genetics mean they can’t add muscle quickly.
